God is Building Our Support Team!

God has already begun to provide us with faithful brothers and sisters in Christ who have graciously agreed to prayerfully support us with our living and ministry expenses as we transition to ministry in Ecuador!

First of all, we want to say a huge thank you to those who have already committed to join our support team to send us on mission to Ecuador! When Heather and I first started to pray about pursuing the call to missions in Ecuador, I knew that if I could choose any ministry in the world this was exactly what I wanted to do; to teach pastors and ministry students on the mission field. The only aspect of serving with Reaching and Teaching that gave us pause was the fact that we would have to raise our own financial support. However, as we have continued to pray and study the Word, we have been so encouraged as we have discovered the biblical basis for partnering with others in order to accomplish the Great Commission. We have discovered that asking others to join our ministry team by investing in it financially is exactly what many believers in the Scriptures did including Paul, John and even Jesus Himself who was provided for by believers who gave from their means so that He could focus on full-time ministry. God has called us all to participate in fulfilling the Great Commission to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. He has called some of us to leave home and go, while calling others to participate by staying home and sending others by meeting their spiritual and material needs so that they may give all their effort and energy to full time ministry on the mission field. Not only have we seen the biblical basis for support raising but we have also experienced the benefits and blessings that result from senders and goers who work together to obey the Great Commission. For those who stay home and give to those of us who have been called to go, they experience the blessing of knowing that missionaries like us could simply not fulfill our calling if it were not for God providing for us through faithful supporters sacrificially giving to our ministries. Not only do senders know that their gifts are being used to reach and teach others with the gospel, but they are able to know how God is using theirs funds through our newsletters, updates, and communication with them. Some senders will even be able to come on short-term mission trips to minister alongside us on the mission field! We want to faithfully see support raising as a ministry that allows us to invite others to invest in making an eternal difference in lives all around the world! Prayer Requests: As we continue to reach out to our friends and family, many of whom have already invited us to speak with them about this ministry (we are going to have a busy July!), please pray that God will continue to build our team with those whom He has appointed to be a part of this ministry. Also pray that we would remain patient, faithful and relying on God throughout this time of support-raising before we head to the mission field.
